Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Named Best Mobile Devices by Consumer Reports – Vibrant Displays, Battery Life and Design Top Factors

After the Note7 fiasco, Samsung turned this fallout into a blessing with the release of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. According to the latest verdict from Consumer Reports, it looks like both of these devices have become the top pick for them in nearly every aspect, as you’ll soon find out.

Consumer Reports Is Very Pleased With the Functionality of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ But Is Not Convinced With Samsung’s Own Virtual Assistant

Consumer Reports speaks high notes for the following aspects belonging to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+:

  • Stunning camera
  • Long battery life
  • Gorgeous display
  • Water-resistant package

While both of these devices nail everything related to the aforementioned categories, the one area where we believe that Samsung could have made a difference is adding a dual-camera to the mix. However, the South Korean tech giant might be thinking forward with this decision because then, several consumers might not opt to purchase the Galaxy Note 8, which is going to arriving later this year and heavily rumored to come armed with a dual-camera.

As for the final ratings, the Galaxy S8+ comes on top undoubtedly because of its larger screen estate and impressive battery life, followed by the Galaxy S8 and then the G6. Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus currently occupies the fifth place but it looks like there could be a shift in rankings once the iPhone 8 is released in the future.

There were some praises given by Consumer Reports, which have been detailed below.

“Samsung deserves a shout-out for reducing the over-sharpening produced by its phone cameras. Smartphones rely on built-in software to create the images you see, and one of its tasks is to sharpen the images. If the software goes too far, this can produce a subtle halo effect along the lines between objects, or an object and its background.

Finally, a few top-end cameras, including the iPhone 7 Plus and the LG G6, have dual rear-facing cameras, to enhance either zoom or wide-angle photography. The Samsung phones haven’t gone that route yet—and we don’t think they suffer for it.”
